David Willetts

David Lindsay Willetts (born March 9, 1956) is the Conservative member of Parliament for Havant, in the United Kingdom. He is also chairman of the board of Universal Biosensors Ltd, and holds shares in its parent company, Sensor-Tec Limited.

He currently serves as head of policy co-ordination in the Shadow Cabinet, under Michael Howard. Under Iain Duncan Smith he had been Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.

He had been a whip under John Major but was forced to resign by the Standards and Privileges Committee over an investigation into Neil Hamilton, in 1996.
