Wanganui, New Zealand

Wanganui (originally Petre, renamed 1852) is a town and on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is the seat of the Wanganui District Council.

Features of the district include the Whanganui River (renamed 1991) and the Royal Wanganui Opera House.
