Spencer Street Station

Spencer Street Station is located in the CBD of Melbourne, Australia. It is the hub of the regional rail network of the state of Victoria, serving as a terminus for long-distance V/Line trains.

The station complements Flinders Street Station, the centre of Melbourne's suburban electric rail network, and is connected to it by a viaduct besides the Yarra River.

It is one of the five stations (one of only two above ground) making up the City Loop which encircles the city centre.

Spencer Street Station is currently being rebuilt; construction expected to be complete in time for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
