Shareef Abdur-Rahim

Shareef Abdur-Rahim (born December 11, 1976) is an American professional basketball player. He was born in Marietta, Georgia, and attended college at the University of California, Berkeley for one year, after which he was drafted into the NBA by the Vancouver Grizzlies with the 3rd pick in 1996.

He made an immediate impact on the Grizzlies, becoming their leading scorer, and was clearly the best player on an otherwise dismal team. In 2001, he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks where he continues to be the premier player. He was selected to the All-Star team in 2002.

He is known for his many charitable works.
