Matlock, England

Matlock is a town in Derbyshire, England. It lies on the River Derwent, and has prospered from the mills constructed on that river. The town is the home of Derbyshire county council, and also the Derbyshire Dales district headquarters.

Matlock Bath is the southernmost part of Matlock. It was developed as a spa town and still thrives on tourism. Attractions in the town include the Heights of Abraham, Gulliverís Kingdom theme park, the Derbyshire Mining Museum a petrifying well and an aquarium. The town is also known as a meeting point for motorcyclists.

Both Matlock and Matlock Bath are on a rail line to Derby. The Peak Railway runs trains from Matlock to Darley Dale and Rowsley.

The Peak District lies just west of Matlock.
