Marty

Marty is a 1955 film directed by Delbert Mann, based on a teleplay by Paddy Chayefsky. It is a romance about a butcher in the Bronx, who finds himself unattractive, and his difficulties in finding the right mate.

Marty won four Oscars:

It was nominated for a further four Oscars The film won the 1955 Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film has been deemed "culturally significant" by the Library of Congress and selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.
