Lee (Korean name)

Lee (; ) is the second most common family name in Korea (after Kim). The name is sometimes also transliterated as Yi or Rhee. Lee is also a transliteration of the rarer family names 이 (異) and 이 (伊).

Famous Koreans with this family name have included all the kings of the Joseon Dynasty, the philosophers Yi Hwang and Yi I, South Korea's first president Rhee Syngman, and the politician Lee Hoi-chang.
