Lance Bass

James Lance Bass (born 1979) is a singer in the American pop group N'Sync and a native of Mississippi. He began his musical odyssey in the seventh grade in the school chorus. He later joined Mississippi Show Stoppers, a state wide group sponsored by the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum. He joined Mickey Mouse Club alums JC and Justin Timberlake in N'Sync, a boy band turned overnight sensation. Considered the 'quiet one' of the group, Lance is the only member of the band who loves the music of Boyz II Men.

He was scheduled to fly into space on the Russian Soyuz spacecraft in 2002 with the mission Soyuz TMA-1. However, his sponsorship funds failed to materialize. He still hopes to fly by 2005.
