Information design refers to the design of information systems. It comprises the aspects data modelling and process analysis.

Data modelling refers to the analysis and design of the information in the system, concentrating on the logical entities and the logical dependencies between these entities. In a later stage, logical data models may be translated into physical data models.

Process analysis refers to the analysis and design of the processes in which the data is transformed and moved.
