Husayn ibn Ali

Husayn ibn Ali or Husayn bin Ali (various spellings exist) refers to a number of historical characters. The two most important ones are:

• Husayn bin Ali (626-680), grandson of Muhammad and Islamic saint
• Sherif Hussein ibn Ali (1853-1931), sherif of Makkah and king of the Hejaz
