Hawridge

Hawridge (or Harrage) is a small village in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located just outside Chesham, close to the border with Hertfordshire.

The village name is Anglo Saxon in origin, and means 'ridge frequented by hawks'.

The manor in the village is on the site of an ancient burh (fortress). The groundworks that surround the manor are perfectly circular, and surrounded by a deep trench.
