Gore, New ZealandGore
is a town and surrounding borough in the South Island
of New Zealand
. It is situated on the banks of the Mataura River, 64km northeast of Invercargill
and 70km northwest of Balclutha
Originally known as Longford, Gore was renamed after Sir Thomas Gore Browne an early governor of New Zealand.
