Ethologist

An ethologist is a scientist who studies the behavior of animals, particularly social animals such as primates and canids. Perhaps the best-known ethologist is Jane Goodall, a British scientist who has spent much of her life observing bands of chimpanzees in Gombe National Park in the African nation of Tanzania. Another well-known ethologist was Dian Fossey, who was murdered while attempting to study and protect gorillas in the Rwandan province of Ruhengeri. Current evidence suggests that her murder was masterminded by Protais Zigiranyirazo, former Governor of the Ruhengeri province, who is also known for his creation of the death squads that resulted in the deaths of over 800,000 Rwandans in 1994.
