Brian Hannon

The Right Reverend Brian Hannon (born October 5, 1936) is a retired Anglican clergyman, Bishop of Clogher from 1986 to 2001. He is also the father of the singer and songwriter Neil Hannon, lead member of The Divine Comedy.

He was once known as "Hannon the Cannon"[1].

He ministered in the city of Londonderry from 1969 to 1982, during the time of the Troubles. He then moved to the diocese of Clogher, as rector of the Cathedral Parish of Enniskillen in County Fermanagh, and he went on to become Bishop in 1986.

He retired as Bishop of Clogher on October 5, 2001, his sixty-fifth birthday. On November 21, the Church of Ireland House of Bishops met in Dublin, where they elected his successor, the Very Reverend Michael Jackson.
