Atlético Celaya

Atlético Celaya, nicknamed Toros are a Mexican football team from Celaya, Guanajuato. Founded on February 7, 1957, they currently play in the Primera División A.

They play in blue shirts and blue shorts with white socks. Home stadium is the Estadio Miguel Alemán that seats 29,333 spectators.

The team was founded when two second-division clubs, Atletico Cuernavaca (Morelos) and Escuadra Celeste de Celaya (Guanajuato), merged. Another team, Atlético Español, was also merged at a later date.

The period shortly after promotion in 1995 was notable by the coaching of Juan Manuel Alvarez and the signing of Butragueño, who gained much popularity captaining the team in its newly-promoted status. Later on, other members of Real Madrid's Quinta del Buitre arrived, but they were not as successful as hoped, being in the latter stages of their respective careers.
