Yosemite Lakes is a town located in Madera County, California. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 4,160.

Demographics

census of 2000, there are 4,160 people, 1,534 households, and 1,288 families residing in the town. The population density is 76.8/km² (198.9/mi²). There are 1,763 housing units at an average density of 32.6/km² (84.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 93.20% White, 0.36% African American, 0.99% Native American, 0.70% Asian, 0.41% Pacific Islander, 2.28% from other races, and 2.07% from two or more races. 7.93% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,534 households out of which 32.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.6% are married couples living together, 7.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.0% are non-families. 12.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.71 and the average family size is 2.95. In the town the population is spread out with 25.1% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 23.4% from 25 to 44, 29.4% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.5 males.
