Yanceyville is a town located in Caswell County, North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,091. It is the county seat of Caswell County6.

census of 2000, there are 2,091 people, 658 households, and 400 families residing in the town. The population density is 174.0/km² (450.9/mi²). There are 748 housing units at an average density of 62.2/km² (161.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 44.29% White, 53.99% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.33% from other races, and 0.91% from two or more races. 1.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 658 households out of which 29.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 33.0% are married couples living together, 24.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.2% are non-families. 36.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 19.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.21 and the average family size is 2.88. In the town the population is spread out with 19.6% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 32.9% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 18.3% who are 65 years of age or older.
