Interesting Facts

It is (at least) rumored that Wheaton has more churches per square mile than any other US city. One verson of the rumor claims that wheaton has more churches than any other place in the world next to Italy. Although I cannot seem to verify this online or find my book of world records, I can testify to seeing the loads of churches that line the downtown streets and to the pages long list of churches in the local area phone directory. It is also the home of the headquarters for the Theosophical Society in America, which includes an antique mansion, complete with dumbwaiters and centuries old furniture, an amazingly beautiful two story tall library, a large grounds with a labyrinth and tennis court, and an occult book shop and supply store. Wheaton also contains a very large monument to the (still living as of 2004) evangelist Billy Graham (called the Billy Graham Center, located on the Wheaton College Campus) which is chock full of pictures of Billy Graham, and strange conceptual exhibits intended to convey christian ideas. Anyone interested in investigating Ley Lines would surely have a field day connecting all the wheaton churches on a map and trying to find patterns of "energy vorticies".
