West Greenwich is a town located in Kent County, Rhode Island. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 5,085.

\nAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 132.9 km² (51.3 mi²). 131.1 km² (50.6 mi²) of it is land and 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.34% water.

\nAs of the census of 2000, there are 5,085 people, 1,749 households, and 1,451 families residing in the town. The population density is 38.8/km² (100.4/mi²). There are 1,809 housing units at an average density of 13.8/km² (35.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.70% White, 0.28% African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.57% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.24% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. 0.69% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
