West-Eastern Divan

The West-Eastern Divan is a symphony orchestra.

It was founded by the Argentinnian-Israeli conductor Daniel Barenboim and the American-Arab scientist Edward Said. The players are young people with Israeli or Palestinian background. The aim of the West-Eastern Divan is to support more understanding between Israelis and Arabs and paving the way for a peaceful and fair solution of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
