Werner Klemperer

Werner Klemperer (March 20, 1920 - December 6, 2000) was the actor best known for portraying colonel Wilhelm Klink on the TV show Hogan's Heroes. A jew, Klemperer was very conscious of the fact that he was playing a Nazi and agreed only to play Klink on the condition that he would be portrayed as a fool and that he never succeeded.

Werner was the son of the well-known conductor Otto Klemperer [1], (1885-1973).
