Wallace is a town located in St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 570.

1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 19.6 km² (7.6 mi²). 16.9 km² (6.5 mi²) of it is land and 2.7 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 13.77% water.

census of 2000, there are 570 people, 174 households, and 144 families residing in the town. The population density is 33.8/km² (87.6/mi²). There are 195 housing units at an average density of 11.6/km² (30.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 6.14% White, 93.86% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.18% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 174 households out of which 37.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.6% are married couples living together, 28.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.7% are non-families. 16.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.28 and the average family size is 3.70.
