Veterans Stadium

Colloquially known as "The Vet," Veterans Stadium is located on Broad Street in Philadelphia; it has housed the Philadelphia Eagles Football Team (NFL) and the Philadelphia Phillies (Major League Baseball) Team since 1971. The Eagles' final season at the Vet was in 2002, and the Phillies' final season was in 2003.

The Vet has been known for providing both the Eagles and the Phillies with great home-field advantage. In particular, the acoustics greatly enhance crowd noise on the field, making it difficult for opponents to focus on the task at hand.

The most notable event in the Vet's history was Game 6 of the 1980 World Series; in that game, the Phillies clinched their lone championship.

The Vet is scheduled to be demolished in February 2004.
