University of Wales Swansea

The University of Wales Swansea was founded in July 1920 and was the 29th university established in the British Isles. As of 2003, the university had over 10,000 students.

The first female professor of a British university was was appointed at the University of Wales Swansea in 1921.

The university is located in Swansea Bay, next to the Gower Peninsula.
