University of North London

The University of North London is the name of a former university in the United Kingdom. As of 1 August 2002, it became part of the new London Metropolitan University, along with London Guildhall University.

The university was previously a polytechnic, named the Polytechnic of North London since the mid-1970s, although its full history as an educational institution stretches back to the 1890s. In the 1970s and early 1980s it was under the control of the Inner London Education Authority—part of the Greater London Council. It gained university status in 1992, along with other polytechnics in England.
