Tympanic membrane

The tympanic membrane, also called the tympanum, is a webbing of skin extending across the ear canal. It is considered to be the boundary between the inner ear and the outer ear. The tympanic membrane collects vibrations and passes them to the malleus bone, one of the three ossicles.
