Thermidorian

The Thermidorian Reaction was a revolt against the abuses of the Public Safety Committee that took place on Thermidor 9 (July 27) of 1794 when deputies in the National Convention authorized the arrest of Robespierre and several other leading members of the PSC. They were guillotined, beginning a short transitory period of "white terror."
