The Register

The Register ("El Reg" to its staff) is a British technology news website concentrating on the computer industry founded by John Lettice and Mike Magee in 1994. Its articles frequently have a sarcastic tone.

Mike Magee has since left to start The Inquirer.

Comment pieces are carried along with the news, they get a good number of accusations of bias. These are printed in the "Flame of the Week" articles. As well as carrying their own content, licenced articles from other sites are included.

They also have a habit of unusual naming: so Intel becomes Chipzilla, Itanium, Itanic, and Rambus is Rambust.
