The Guardsman

The Guardsman is a 1931 movie based on the play Testör by Ferenc Molnar and the play Elizabeth the Queen by Maxwell Anderson. It stars Alfred Lunt, Lynn Fontanne, Roland Young and Zazu Pitts.

The movie was adapted by Ernest Vajda (screenplay) and Claudine West (continuity) and was directed by Sidney Franklin.

It was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Alfred Lunt) and Best Actress in a Leading Role (Lynn Fontanne).

The 1931 talkie is based upon the roles they had played on Broadway in 1924.
