Telecom New Zealand

Telecom New Zealand is a telecommunications company, and handles the majority of New Zealand telephones.

Telecom was formed in 1987 from a division of the New Zealand Post Office, and sold by the government in 1990 to a private company. The price it was sold is considered by many to be extremely low, given that they had at the time a monopoly of all phone lines in New Zealand.
