Technic

Technics is the most famous brand of the Matsushita Company. Manufacturing all kinds of consumer audio equipment (amps, speakers, CD-players, tuners etc) they built their reputation mainly on their construction of some of the best record players (turntables) ever made.

They introduced the first direct-drive system in 1969 (the SP-10) for professional use and in 1971 (SL-1100) for the consummer market.
From then on catered for the budget-consumer market, the serious audiophile as well as the broadcast industry.

The best known model became the SL-1200Mk2 which became the standard turntable first for Hip Hop and then for all other DJs.
