Tar-Ancalimon

In the fictional universe of J. R. R. Tolkien, Tar-Ancalimon was the 14th ruler of Númenor. He succeeded his father, Tar-Atanamir.

During Tar-Ancalimon's reign, two parties arose. The Elf-friends, or Elendili, advocated continuing friendship with the Valar and the Elves. The King's Men advocated dependence on the might of Men themselves. This split would continue until the destruction of Númenor.

Tar-Ancalimon was succeeded by his son, Tar-Telemmaitë.
