The racial makeup of the city is 81.45% White, 16.73% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.21% from other races, and 0.60% from two or more races. 1.81% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 186 households out of which 34.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% are married couples living together, 14.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.9% are non-families. 24.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.63 and the average family size is 3.13.
