Supai, Arizona

Supai is a town located in Coconino County, Arizona. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 0 (423 in 1990). The town is located within the Havasupai Indian Reservation.

Geography

Being located at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, the town is only accessible by foot or by helicopter. Mail and package delivery to the town is thus delayed; delivery time for mail from Bullhead City (in the northwest part of the state) via the United States Postal Service is at least a week (D. Varty, personal communication, 2004).

Supai is located at 36°13'27" North, 112°41'38" West (36.224139, -112.693957)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.5 km² (1.7 mi²). 4.5 km² (1.7 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. The town is located 6,591 feet above sea level.
