Spring Park is a city located in Hennepin County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,717.

Geography

United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²). 0.9 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 41.94% water.

Demographics

census of 2000, there are 1,717 people, 930 households, and 321 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,841.5/km² (4,724.3/mi²). There are 983 housing units at an average density of 1,054.3/km² (2,704.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.51% White, 1.40% African American, 0.35% Native American, 0.70% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.23% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. 0.82% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 930 households out of which 11.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 26.3% are married couples living together, 4.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 65.4% are non-families. 55.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 22.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.63 and the average family size is 2.43. In the city the population is spread out with 9.3% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 30.3% from 25 to 44, 20.2% from 45 to 64, and 31.9% who are 65 years of age or older.
