Snake Spring Township is a township located in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 1,482.


\nAccording to the
United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 66.7 km² (25.8 mi²). 66.7 km² (25.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.


\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 1,482 people, 552 households, and 432 families residing in the township. The population density is 22.2/km² (57.5/mi²). There are 652 housing units at an average density of 9.8/km² (25.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.11% White, 0.20% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.54% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.40% from other races, and 0.54% from two or more races. 0.20% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 552 households out of which 28.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.5% are married couples living together, 5.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.7% are non-families. 18.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.49 and the average family size is 2.82. In the township the population is spread out with 18.9% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 26.0% from 45 to 64, and 23.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 45 years. For every 100 females there are 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.3 males.
