Seven Champions

  1. The Seven Champions of Christendom, by Richard Johnson, printed in 1608, relates the heroic adventures of seven saints, including St George, as they battle dragons and pagans while defending the honor of young maidens. The other saints include St Denis of France, St James of Spain, St Anthony of Italy, St Andrew of Scotland, St Patrick of Ireland, and the last, before St. George of England, St David of Wales.
  2. The Seven Champions Molly Dancers were formed in 1977, an offshoot of Morris dance. The formation of this group is a result of the revival of Morris dance in English culture.
