Senussi

The Senussi are nomads who live in the Libyan Desert, many of which raise camels and goats. Prior to World War II, they were attacked by the Italians. The Senussi were also involved in World War I.

The Sanussi are a Sufi Muslim order, whose aim is to act on their beliefs of Islam. King Idris I of Libya was the grandson of the founder of the Senussi order. Another famous leader was Omar Al-Mukhtar, who led the fight against the Italian fascist army until his capture and execution.
