Screen Gems

'Screen Gems' is an American television production company.

From the 1950s Screen Gems was the television subsidiary of Columbia Pictures Industries. In the 70s the name was abandoned and changed to Columbia Pictures Television. Changes in corporate ownership meant that in the 1980s, although continuing to trade under CPT, the Coca-Cola Company had bought the studios. In the 1990s Columbia Pictures merged with TriStar Pictures under its new parent company, Sony Pictures Entertainment. Columbia/Tri-Star has in 2003 changed names to Sony Television, and in 2001, "Screen Gems" was reinstated as a specialist motion picture producing arm of Columbia Pictures.
