River Cole, West Midlands

The River Cole is a short river in the English Midlands. It rises near South Birmingham, though which it flows, before joining the Tame, of which it is a tributary. It is just 27 miles long.

The Cole drives Sarehole Mill, now a museum, which was one of the inspirations for Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
