Rita Moreno

Rosita Dolores Alverio (born December 11, 1931), better known as Rita Moreno, is a Puerto Rican actress who has achieved fame both in Hollywood and Broadway. She is a native of Humacao.

Moreno became a celebrity in The West Side Story, a 1960 movie that garnered her an Oscar award.

The Guiness Book of World Records lists Moreno as the first person in history to win an Oscar, a Tony, and Emmy and a Grammy. However, Barbra Streisand and Helen Hayes preceeded her in achieving those four awards. But Moreno was the first and remains the only Hispanic entertainer to earn all four awards.

Rita Moreno married Lenny Gordon on June 18, 1965. During the late 1990s, she gained some extra exposure playing a pshychologist in the popular HBO series, oz.
