Raymondville is a city located in Willacy County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 9,733. It is the county seat of Willacy County6.

census of 2000, there are 9,733 people, 2,514 households, and 2,016 families residing in the city. The population density is 988.9/km² (2,564.4/mi²). There are 2,842 housing units at an average density of 288.8/km² (748.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 69.91% White, 3.91% African American, 0.59% Native American, 0.10% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 23.29% from other races, and 2.20% from two or more races. 86.63% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 2,514 households out of which 41.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.6% are married couples living together, 18.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.8% are non-families. 18.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.45 and the average family size is 3.97. In the city the population is spread out with 29.9% under the age of 18, 13.1% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 17.5% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 30 years. For every 100 females there are 117.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 119.5 males. The median income for a household in the city is $19,729, and the median income for a family is $23,799. Males have a median income of $20,034 versus $14,502 for females.
