Put-in-Bay is a village located in Ottawa County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 128.


Put-in-Bay is located at 41°39'11" North, 82°49'3" West (41.653006, -82.817620)1. It is located on South Bass Island in Lake Erie. Ferry service connects it with Catawba Island, Kelleys Island, Port Clinton, and Sandusky, Ohio.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.2 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 28.12% water.


As of the census of 2000, there are 128 people, 67 households, and 36 families residing in the village. The population density is 107.4/km² (279.2/mi²). There are 179 housing units at an average density of 150.2/km² (390.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 99.22% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.78% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

The summer population is higher than the permanent population.
