Princeville is a town located in Kauai County, Hawaii. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,698.

1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 6.2 km² (2.4 mi²). 5.4 km² (2.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 11.76% water.


\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 1,698 people, 752 households, and 491 families residing in the town. The population density is 312.2/km² (806.7/mi²). There are 1,640 housing units at an average density of 301.5/km² (779.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 81.27% White, 0.29% African American, 0.53% Native American, 4.59% Asian, 3.36% Pacific Islander, 1.00% from other races, and 8.95% from two or more races. 4.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 752 households out of which 23.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.5% are married couples living together, 9.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.7% are non-families. 26.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.26 and the average family size is 2.70. In the town the population is spread out with 19.3% under the age of 18, 3.4% from 18 to 24, 25.3% from 25 to 44, 35.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 100.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.3 males.
