Port Royal, Nova Scotia

The founding of Port Royal (French: Port-Royal) by French explorer Samuel de Champlain marked the beginning of the colonization of New France.

Port Royal is located in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia approximately 200 km northwest of Halifax along the Bay of Fundy.
