Otomo no Yakamochi

Otomo no Yakamochi (大伴家持 Ōtomo no Yakamochi; c. 618 - 785) was a Japanese stateman and Waka poet in the Nara period. He was one of compilers of Man'yoshu.

Born in the prestigious Otomo family, Yamamochi served as a Kokushi (provincial governor) while creating many waka poems.
