Oedipal

Pertaining to Oedipus Rex - Sophocles's drama Oedipal is about a king who (unknowingly) kills his father and marries his mother.

Sigmund Freud generalized this and claimed that all men fantasize about killing their father & sleeping with their mother: this he termed the Oedipus complex. He similarly claimed that all daughters want to sleep with their fathers, known as the Electra complex.
