Oak Hill is a city located in Volusia County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,378.

1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 29.1 km² (11.2 mi²). 16.5 km² (6.4 mi²) of it is land and 12.6 km² (4.9 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 43.38% water.


\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 1,378 people, 549 households, and 410 families residing in the city. The population density is 83.4/km² (216.1/mi²). There are 695 housing units at an average density of 42.1/km² (109.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 81.79% White, 16.26% African American, 0.65% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.51% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. 0.65% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 549 households out of which 25.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.3% are married couples living together, 8.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.3% are non-families. 20.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.51 and the average family size is 2.84. In the city the population is spread out with 22.1% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 24.6% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 21.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 106.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.0 males. The median income for a household in the city is $32,130, and the median income for a family is $35,682. Males have a median income of $24,643 versus $22,917 for females.
