National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD)

The National Democratic Party (German: Nationaldemokratische Partei Deutschlands) is a far-right political party in Germany. The federal government attempted to ban it but this was thrown out when it was discovered that a large percentage of the leadership were undercover agents.

Horst Mahler former member of the left-wing terrorist organisation Red Army Faction defended the NPD in the trial before the Bundesverfassungsgericht, the highest court in Germany, about the prohibition of the NPD.
