United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 96.9 km² (37.4 mi²). 94.0 km² (36.3 mi²) of it is land and 2.9 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.97% water.


\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 247 people, 104 households, and 76 families residing in the town. The population density is 2.6/km² (6.8/mi²). There are 238 housing units at an average density of 2.5/km² (6.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.38% White, 0.40% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.21% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 104 households out of which 22.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.3% are married couples living together, 1.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.0% are non-families. 22.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 2.73.
